Obituary of Joseph LoRe

FRANKFORT – The family of Mr. Giuseppe “Joseph” LoRe, sadly announces his passing which occurred on Monday evening, March 30, 2020 at the MVHS St. Elizabeth Campus. He was 89 years old. Born in San Giuseppe Jato, Sicily on June 11, 1930, Joseph was the son of the late Pietro and Carmelina (Sorce) LoRe. He was raised and educated in Italy and on April 30, 1958, he was united in Holy matrimony to the former Pietrina “Patricia” Marchese. Together, Joe and Pietrina shared in a blessed and devoted union of sixty-one years. After immigrating to the United States, Joe and Pietrina made their home in Frankfort, where together they raised their children on traditional Italian values of hard work , importance of family and strong faith in God. Joe worked for the Union Fork & Hoe, Utica Steam Engine and lastly for Remington Arms where he spent twenty-six years as a machinist until his retirement. Joe was a humble man who proudly maintained his home and his beautiful, fruitful garden. He was blessed with a “green thumb” and would gladly teach anyone who would listen about the art of gardening. He enjoyed watching Italian television shows, soccer games and, of course, gathering his loved ones together for Sunday dinner. He was of the Roman Catholic faith and a longtime parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort. For Joe, there was nothing better than being surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren and these family stories will be his lasting legacy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pietrina; his daughter, Carmelina LoRe-Cooper and husband, John of Frankfort; his sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Teresa LoRe of Clinton, Joseph and Yvonne LoRe of Liverpool and Dominick “Enzo” LoRe of Frankfort; his grandchildren, Joseph LoRe, Danielle LoRe, Joseph Cooper, Olivia LoRe, Victoria Duffy and husband, Dylan, and Sophia LoRe; and his great-granddaughter, Joey Gillon. He also leaves his in-laws, Thomas and Kathy Marchese, Josephine LaSorsa, Paolo Ciresi and Franca LoRe; along with numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Beside his parents, Joe was predeceased by his brother, Dominick LoRe; his sisters, Concetta D’Amico and Teresa Ciresi; and his beloved grandson, Frankie LoRe. Joe’s beloved family will gather in a private ceremony to bid their final farewells to him. A Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church with final committal in Mt. Olivet Cemetery will take place at a time when health conditions and regulations permit. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions to Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, 412 South Frankfort Street, Frankfort, NY 13340. Joe’s final wishes were pre-arranged and entrusted to Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, funeral directors of the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com.
