Obituary of Roger H. Potter

HERKIMER: Mr. Roger H. Potter, 72, a Frankfort resident, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Homelife at Folts. Roger was born on August 21, 1943 in Leominster, MA to the late Howard & Ann (Swinnerton) Potter. He attended Leominster schools and graduated from University of Vermont in 1965 with a BA in English. After graduation Roger became employed by Remington Arms Company for 30 years. Roger had a lifelong love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He was a talented musician who ran the open mic night, and played guitar while mentoring many musicians at the Coffee Bar in Herkimer NY. He was a member of the Remington Country Band and played with other local musicians in the Mohawk Valley. Roger will be remembered by all for his compassion, generosity, the true love of family, and companionship of friends. He was a loyal and dedicated dad to his two daughters for all of his life. His legacy will live on. Roger is survived by daughters- Alison P. Potter of Herkimer NY, and Susan C. Potter of Charlotte, NC, and her fiancé Shane Moore, as well as granddaughters- Cassidy Potter of Herkimer NY, Emily Temple of Herkimer NY, and Kendyl Moore of Charlotte NC. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street Herkimer, NY (315) 866-1011. Celebration of Roger's life will take place at the conclusion of calling hours from the chapel of the funeral home. His arrangements have been entrusted to Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors.
