ST. JOHNSVILLE – Mr. Stephen J. Widanka, passed away at the age of 86 on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the Wells House, Johnstown, NY. His family surrounded him with support and they were thankful for the wonderful care offered. He was born on December 26, 1929 in Little Falls, a son of the late Peter and Agnes (Mazur) Widanka. He attended and graduated from St. Johnsville schools, and went on to obtain college credentials at Morrisville State College. His marriage to Doris Marie Burns took place in 1956 at Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church in Little Falls, a sixty year union filled with love. Stephen owned and operated the Widanka Dairy Farm in the town of Minden for many years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie, his daughters, Tamala Smith of St. Johnsville and Stephanie Widanka of Gloversville, and he was predeceased by his daughter Shari Widanka. He is also survived by his brother Edward Widanka of Florida, his grandchildren, Naomi Jones, Megan Grubb, and Stephen Grubb, his great-grandchildren, Kaylee Marie Jones and Sadie Rose Jones, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services and calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 25, 2016 at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville, NY. The calling hours are on Wednesday from 4 until 7 PM. At 5:00PM Reverend David Johnson will offer a Funeral Prayer service to honor the memory of Stephen Widanka. The family plot is in Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Cemetery, town of Herkimer.
