Obituary of Frank T. Vainauskas, Sr.

FULTONVILLE – Mr. Frank T. Vainauskas, Sr. of Burtonville Road, Fultonville, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2016 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam, NY at the age of 95. Born July 19, 1920, he was the son of the late Stasys (Stephen) and Katherine Vainauskas. He attended a one-room school in the Town of Charleston. He owned and worked the family dairy farm in the Town of Charleston and also enjoyed raising chickens, peacocks and assorted breeds of fowl throughout his years of farming. He was a former Town Assessor and Councilman for the Town of Charleston for several years. He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in Amsterdam and St. Cecelia’s Church in Fonda. On April 24, 1948 he married Ann B. Tylutki and together they enjoyed 66 years of marriage. She predeceased him on June 5, 2014. He is survived by his two sons, Frank T. Vainauskas, Jr. (Kathy) of Fultonville and Thomas F. Vainauskas (Wilda) of Fultonville, three grandchildren, Matthew Vainauskas, Christopher Vainauskas (Kori) and Lisa Vainauskas; four great – grandchildren, Amaya, Avary, Adrianna and Kori; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank was predeceased by four brothers. A memorial graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Casimir’s Cemetery Chapel in Amsterdam.
