FRANKFORT- Mrs. Christina (Gambardella) Fazzolari, age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 28, 2017, at Focus Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Utica. Born on June 6, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Luca and Teresa (Landi) Gambardella, of Brooklyn, NY. Educated in Brooklyn, she became an Oil Colorist, assisting photographers in their work. On May 29, 1954, she married Dominick Fazzolari, celebrating a blessed marriage of 54 years with him, until his passing on December 26, 2008. Christina had a love for the Arts, especially painting. She enjoyed playing the piano and listening to opera music along with singing at local senior centers across the Brooklyn and Central New York area. There were days that she cherished car rides, to look at the scenery and internalizing everything life had to offer. Most of all, Christina loved and adored her family. Taking care of them was her reason of living each day. Christina is survived by her son and daughter in-law, James and Christina Fazzolari, of Schuyler; her daughter and son in-law, Roselle and Michael Salzano of Brooklyn; her four grandchildren Christopher, Jenna, Kristy, and Michael; her sister, Jennie Lori of Brooklyn; along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her brother and sister in-law, Salvatore and Elaine Gambardella and brother in-law, Henry Lori. In keeping with Christina’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. A Graveside service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frankfort, sometime in the Spring.
