Obituary of Betty J. Meisenheimer

Mrs. Betty J. Meisenheimer, age 95, of Ilion, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, March 7, 2017, at the Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, in the privacy and comfort of her room. Born on May 21, 1921, Betty was the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Jones) Marley. She was raised and educated in Utica, and was a graduate from Utica schools. At one time, she was employed with the NY Central Railroad. On April 13, 1946, Betty was wed to Mr. Frank Meisenheimer, and together they shared a marriage of 46 years, until Frank’s passing on September 16, 1992. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Angie Meisenheimer; her son-in-law, Jonathan Meakim; her grandsons, Steven and Robert Meakim; her brother, Richard Marley; her niece and nephew, Margaret and Don Stowell; as well as other nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her daughters, Pam Meakim and Joyce Meisenheimer. A graveside service will be held later in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery, Oneida Street, Utica. All service arrangements have been entrusted to Don Applegate and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors of the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West Street, Ilion, NY.
