Obituary of Frank "Squeege" Netti, Jr.
MOHAWK – Mr. Frank “Squeege” Netti, Jr., age 69, a lifelong Mohawk Valley resident, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, September 3, 2019, in the privacy and comfort of his home.
Born on August 28, 1950, Frank was a son of the late Frank, Sr. and Dina (Vigliotti) Netti. He was raised and educated in Herkimer, graduating from Herkimer High School with the Class of 1968. He then went on to further his studies at Herkimer County Community College where he earned his Associate’s Degree.
On February 6, 1971, Frank was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Linda Sisson at St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer. Together they shared in over 48 years of a blessed and devoted union.
Frank proudly served in the United States Army National Guard from 1970 - 1976 and remained a proud veteran throughout his life.
Most would remember Frank for his many years in the diner business; he was the owner and operator of the Mohawk Diner, as well as K&Z Auto Rental in Mohawk, until his recent retirement. Frank also enjoyed coaching Mohawk Little League from 1983 to 1985 and Mohawk Central Modified Football from 1988-1990
Frank was a family man, devoted to the well being of his wife, children and especially his two granddaughters, who lit up his life. He was a die-hard New York Yankees fan and a parishioner of Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church in Herkimer.
Frank is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter Crystal Netti-Barringer and her husband, Brian of New Hartford; his son, Paul J. Netti of Mohawk; his beloved granddaughters, Abigail and Sydney Barringer; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Kenny McDonnell of Herkimer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brother, Nicholas Netti.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend Frank’s calling hours on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315) 866-1011. Frank’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at the funeral home at 7:00PM, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation.
