ST. JOHNSVILLE – Mrs. Janet Faye Smida, 77, of 33 North Division Street, St. Johnsville, passed away on Friday morning, December 27, 2019, at the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, with her beloved family at her side. She was born on January 9, 1942, in Gloversville, New York, the daughter of the late Ronald William and Elizabeth (Brownell) Weber. Janet was a graduate of St. Johnsville schools and lived most of her life in the St. Johnsville area. Her marriage to Paul E. Smida took place on February 28, 1959, at St. Patrick’s Church, in St. Johnsville. The couple shared in a blessed union of nearly 41 years until the passing of Mr. Smida, on January 3, 2000. Janet was a loving and caring matriarch to the family. At one time, she worked with Felt Shoe and enjoyed farming in Fort Plain. We fondly remember how much fun she had antiquing on Route 5 as well. Survivors include her children, Paula Sullivan and her husband, Bill, Angela Johnson, Elizabeth Rocklin, Brian Smida and his wife, Lisa, Tina Case and her husband, Steve, Christine Flansburg and her husband, Randy and Anthony Smida and his wife, April; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Barbara and Howard Erickson, of California, David Weber, of Fort Plain and Larry Weber and his wife, Donna, of Sprakers; her In-Laws, Robert Smida and his wife, Laura, of Ephratah; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Ronald Weber. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020, at 11:00 AM, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, in St. Johnsville, New York, with the Reverend David A. Johnson, officiating.
