Obituary of John M. Price, Sr.

EAST HERKIMER – Mr. John M. Price, Sr., age 79, of Main Road, East Herkimer, New York, entered the kingdom of heaven on Friday December 27, 2019. He was born on February 19, 1940, in Herkimer, the son of the late George M. and Evelyn (Prue) Price. John attended Mohawk Central School and passionately served our nation with the United States Army Reserves. On September 6, 1985, he was joined in matrimony to Charlotte D. Zimmerman and the couple shared so much happy time together. Charlotte passed away on April 5, 2018. He was last employed as a sign foreman with the New York State Department of Transportation. At one time, John had worked with the county and had even boarded horses, enjoying the hobby farm out on West End Road. John was a hard worker and was willing to help out, wherever and whenever needed. He is survived by his children, John M. Price, Jr., of Fairfield, Ronald J. and his wife, Vicki Price, of Richfield Springs, Robert A. and LuAnn Price, of Averill Park and Kim M. Tero and husband, Ronald, of Herkimer. He is also survived by a brother, George Price and his wife, Marilyn, of Cedarville; sisters and a brother-in-law, Eleanor Kutulas, of Colorado and Beverly Maziarz and her husband, Richard, of Melbourne, Florida; a sister-in-law, Carol Price, of Ilion; and many grandchildren, great–grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte; his infant daughter, Debra; and his brothers, Darrell and Daniel Price, of Ilion. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020, at 10:00 AM, at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, New York (Town of Frankfort), with Rev. Brian Engel, officiating. Family and friends are invited to the funeral service and there are no calling hours. Interment will be held at Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. Those wishing to remember John in a special way are asked to consider a donation in his memory to the Herkimer County Humane Society, P.O. Box 73, Mohawk, New York 13407.
