Obituary of Samuel "Sammy" Daniel Sterusky, Jr.

LITTLE FALLS - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel “Sammy” Daniel Sterusky, Jr., of Little Falls, on February 11, 2020, at the age of 83. He was born on October 29, 1936, to Samuel and Frances (Petkovsek) Sterusky. He was a proud graduate of St. Mary’s Academy and went on to attend Cornell University on full scholarship to obtain an Associate’s Degree in Animal Husbandry. He then returned to Little Falls where he and his two brothers operated Manor Farms. Sammy was a well-known, kind and caring man who was always willing to help family or friends. He was a farmer who worked hard, a breadwinner who provided, a loving partner and father, and a neighbor who loved to socialize with friends. His favorite times were visiting Las Vegas and watching his beloved team, Notre Dame. He enjoyed his newfound friends in the Amish community. Sammy was predeceased by his brothers, Ralph, Frank and Jimmy; and sister, Genevieve. He is survived by his loving companion and partner, Wendy Tallman (Little Falls); sister, Frances (Dolly) Oertel (Palatine Bridge); daughters, Karen Sterusky (Utica), Lorraine (Tallman) Matheny (West Chester, PA), and Denise (Tallman) Salvatore (Whitesboro); and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
