JOHNSVILLE – Mrs. Ferne Allen Tisi, age 88, of 7 Timmerman Ave., St. Johnsville, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 4, 2020, at St. Mary’s Healthcare, Maria Hall, Amsterdam, New York with the love and support of her family always at her side. She was born on October 23, 1931, in Vernon, New York, the daughter of the late Floyd O. and Alta (Davis) Weaver. Ferne attended Oppenheim schools and was a lifelong area resident. On July 2, 1949, she was married to her high school sweetheart, R. Cecil Allen. Mr. Allen passed away unexpectedly, on July 21, 1987. She was then married to Benaventure “Bennie” Tisi, on July 14, 1990 and Bennie passed away December 11, 2012. Ferne worked with many area shoe factories and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Travelling to Limberlost was always so much fun for her. A loving mother and homemaker, Ferne remarkably would bake for family and friends especially around the holidays and for parties. For many years, she loved to play cards with those she loved. She created a beautiful family environment, was an exemplary mother and an unforgettably kind and gentle soul. She was always there for us and her loving way will live on forever. Survivors include her children, L. Janie Martyniuk and her husband, Pete, of St. Johnsville, NY, Larry Allen and his wife, Verna, of Oppenheim, NY and Gordon Allen, of Moira, NY; her grandchildren, Stephanie Spofford, Larry E. Allen, Peter Allen, Christina Coons, Jason Allen, Shannon Martyniuk and Lucinda Davis; great-grandchildren, Cerina, Emily, Hannah, Zachary, Darek, Andrew and Samuel; great-great grandchildren, Willow and Waylon; a special nephew, who was like a brother to Ferne’s children, George Brown and his wife, Cheryl. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2020, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 32 West Main Street, St. Johnsville, NY, with Rev. David A. Johnson, Pastor, officiating.
