Obituary of Collin Ross Youker

DOLGEVILLE, NY – It is with great sadness that the Youker Family announce the passing of their beloved son and brother, Collin Youker, 29, of N Helmer Ave., Dolgeville, New York. He left us quietly and unexpectedly at his home on the 4th of April 2020. Collin Ross Youker was born on September 10th, 1990, in Little Falls, NY to Harvey Harmon Youker, Jr. and Denise Mary (Moore) Youker. He grew up in Salisbury, NY enjoying the outdoors, swimming in creeks and lakes, dirt bike riding through the woods, fishing and loving the country life. Collin graduated from Dolgeville Central School in 2008, where he excelled in football for the Blue Devils and was voted Team Captain by his many friends and teammates. He went on to study Civil Engineering at Hudson Valley Community College, in Troy, NY, graduating with an Associate Degree and spent the next five years working for Ravi Engineering, out of Rochester, NY. As Senior Construction Inspector, Collin loved the challenging technical aspects of problem-solving the building of major public works projects, like the bridges and roads we all rely upon and took great pride in his work. Collin will forever be remembered by friends and family as a devoted, loving father to his two beautiful daughters, AnnaLeigh and Addy. He cherished them, spent as much time as possible with them and tried his best to be a great example and role model. Mostly though, (to those who knew him best) Collin was a one-of-a-kind character who never ceased to be entertaining (whether he liked it or not). He lit up any room he entered, cracking jokes, making goofy faces, telling stories and well…just being “Collin”. He enjoyed having “rap battles” and making ridiculous videos with his cousin Gabe, loved riding his treasured side-by-side through the fields, blasting country music to go shoot clay pigeons with his multitude of friends and pretty much just doing all things “country”. Collin was not only hilarious, sarcastic, witty and fun but also a natural leader who was compassionate, caring and selfless. He was always willing to put others before himself and would help out any way possible. His favorite quote was: “I don’t scratch my head unless it itches, I don’t dance unless I hear music and I won’t be intimidated. That’s just the way it is.” … and he truly lived that mantra. Collin is survived by his two beautiful daughters, AnnaLeigh (5) and Addelyn (2); his parents, Denise Youker, of Salisbury, NC and Harvey Youker, of Ft. Myers, FL; his three brothers, Ethan Youker, of Tampa, FL, Joel Youker, of Salisbury, NC and Deven Youker, of Kannapolis, NC. He is also survived by his large extended family of grandparents; aunts; uncles; numerous cousins; nieces; nephews; and friends who will all miss him dearly. No words can express the emptiness he leaves. He will be greatly missed and forever hold a special place in all of our hearts. Collin’s family has planned all arrangements with the Enea Family Funeral Home, at 24 West Monroe Street, in Little Falls, New York. Very special arrangements have been made as a unique drive-by calling hour to be held on Friday, April 10, 2020, from Noon until 1:00 PM, at the front of the funeral home on Monroe Street. Guests are kindly asked to remain in their vehicles and drive slowly past the front walkway of the funeral home to show support, express sympathies, smile, and share hand - written messages, memories and pictures through your vehicle windows.
