Obituary of Anthony John "Tony" Wood

BRIDGEWATER – Mr. Anthony John “Tony” Wood, 55 years old, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, New York, with his family by his side. Born in Ilion, New York, on April 23, 1965, Tony was the son of Harley Wood and the late Amelia (Lolio) Wood. Tony attended Ilion High School and was joined in marriage to Mary Lowery where they had three beautiful children together. Through the years, Tony worked for Behlog Produce, Clinton Collision, Titan Mobile Homes, Ron Bunce Paving and View’s Valley Paving. Tony had a deep love for his friends and family, especially his grandchildren and close friends. Some of Tony’s favorite hobbies were riding his motorcycle, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, watching NASCAR and cheering on his Buffalo Bills. He also loved having his fires and listening to his music. When you were in Tony’s company, you always had a great time, made many memories and had many laughs. Later on in life, Tony married his love, Patricia Wood. Together they built a lifetime of memories in their home in Bridgewater, New York, where they added to their family, Tony’s pride and joy “Baxter”, his “dog” cat. Tony is survived by his beloved family, his father, Harley Wood and Marcia; his three children, Anthony Wood, II and Lia Grippe, Andrew and Stevana Wood and Haley Wood and Jimmy Ashton; his six grandchildren, Gianni, Anthony, Ivy, Lillianna, Waylon and Teegan; his three brothers, Ike Wood, Billy Wood and Dennis Wood; along with many nieces and nephews. Tony is predeceased by his mother, Amelia Wood; and his wife, Patricia Wood. Tony’s funeral arrangements have been made with the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, located at 4309 Acme Road (Town of Frankfort), Ilion, New York. A private graveside ceremony and a celebration of life will be held on a later date and the plot will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort, New York. Tony left an impression on many people and will be missed dearly by all. The funeral Directors are Harry J. Enea, Jr. and Kevin E. Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia (315) 894-8000.
