Obituary of Michele A. Holtz

HERKIMER - Michele A. Holtz, affectionately known to so many of us as “Blondie," 56, of Ridgewood Road, Herkimer, passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, New York. Michele was born on October 15, 1963, in Ilion, a daughter of Helen (Wheeler) Bluett and the late Danford Bluett. She lived most of her life in Ilion and attended Ilion High School. Michele is survived by her mother, Helen; 3 sisters, Dianna, Sharon and Tammy; her brother, Clifford; her children, Adaire Holtz, Vanessa Holtz and Lee Holtz, Jr.; grandchildren, Alexandria, Michael, Rhonda, Victoria, Loretta, Coner, Sierra and Jacob; many aunts, uncles, cousins, family friends; and her children’s father, Lee Holtz, Sr. She was predeceased by her father, Danford Bluett; her beloved daughter, Leah Marie Holtz; and her special friend Gary Briggs. Michele loved life and enjoyed many things, such as music and camping, but she especially cherished the time spent with her children, her grandkids and her mom. She loved to feed the deer and go to camp and relax with her puppy, “Snickers”. She also liked to keep in touch with her friends, her sisters and nieces and nephews on Facebook. She missed her daughter Leah ever so much and mom and daughter are united once again. Mom, we are going to miss you. We love you. We picked a beautiful prayer card to invoke mom’s memory forever, by John Burroughs. “I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read and all the friends I want to see. The longer I live, the more my mind dwells upon the beauty and the wonder of the world”. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, in Herkimer, where special family time and prayer by Pastor John Wood, of the Salvation Army will take place, followed by procession to Salisbury Rural Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. We would like to thank the staff of professional doctors and nurses at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for all their support and efforts. They offered tremendous care and compassion. Those wishing to remember Michele in a special way are asked to consider a donation in her memory to our local Salvation Army, 429 North Prospect Street, Herkimer, New York 13350. She held her friends there always near and dear to her heart. Arrangements are under the direction of Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors, of the Enea Family Funeral Home, Herkimer. To add to Michele's online memorials, please visit our website at www.eneafamily.com on the Internet.
