Obituary of Harold W. Bibik, Jr.

ILION – Harold W. “Hal” Bibik, Jr., age 63, a lifelong Mohawk Valley resident, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at The Grand in Ilion. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by the love of his caregivers and nurses from whom he received wonderful care throughout his stay. Born on October 8, 1956, Harold is the son of Clara (Voght) Fredericks and the late Harold W. Bibik, Sr. He was raised and educated locally, graduating from Herkimer High School. Most recently, Hal was employed with the deli section at Walmart in Herkimer, a position which he truly enjoyed. Hal enjoyed many hobbies, which included collecting sports cards, the game of Chess, attending Blues’ festivals, watching hockey and in his past, fishing with his father. Many years ago Hal also took up quilting with his father and they were known as "The Sewing B's". He was a jokester who was full of wit and joy. His sense of humor was unmatched and he had the innate ability to brighten someone’s day just through his very presence. It is Hal’s family’s wish that in his spirit, please brighten someone’s day by making them smile. In his memory, please “Pay it Forward” by performing a random act of kindness for a stranger. It is through these deeds, that Hal will forever live on in the ones he leaves behind. He is survived by his mother, Clara Fredericks of Ilion; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Robert Joy of Clinton; his four nieces and their spouses, Jennifer and Richard Bachelder, Kimberly and Tommy Christiano, Christina Joy and Amy and Jon Thomes; his great-nephews and great-niece, Logan, Derek, Kaitlyn, Jaymes and Jared; an aunt, Mary Andrecheck of Richfield Springs; and an uncle, Clifford Voght of Dolgeville. He also leaves his close friend and roommate at The Grand, Tim Nemeyer; his buddies, Sam and Dave; and his special friends, Dulcie, Russ Hocking and Craig Cureau. In keeping with Hal’s wishes, his earthly remains will be cremated and laid to rest in the family plot at Mt. View Memorial Gardens in Little Falls. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday morning, July 8, 2020 at 10:00AM. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. His final wishes have been entrusted to the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000, Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors.
