ST. JOHNSVILLE – It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Harris E. Richards, age 84, a lifelong resident of St. Johnsville, New York, passed away peacefully, Thursday, September 17, 2020, in Little Falls, New York, after a courageous battle with a brief illness. He was born March 21, 1936, in St. Johnsville and spent many years as a farmer on Richards Farm. Harris just loved raising livestock and working in the fields on his tractor. He had a great love for his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He is lovely remembered by his several nieces and nephews and he was predeceased by his parents, Harold R. & Hazel D. (Trumbull) Richards; his brothers, Harold W., Howard and Eugene Richards; and his sisters, Ruth E. Smith and Alice E. Crowell. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020, at 10:00 AM at St. Johnsville Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his family accompanied by a small graveside prayer. Although there are no calling hours, relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service and the interment will follow. If you plan to attend the graveside service, a face mask will be required. It is the wish of the family that contributions in Harris's memory may be offered to the Margaret Reaney Memorial Library, 19 Kingsbury Avenue, St. Johnsville, New York 13452. Envelopes for this purpose will be available at the services on Monday, September 28th or anytime at the Enea Family Funeral Home. The family is so very thankful and appreciative to the Marchand Manor Assisted Living in Sharon Springs, New York. Harris just loved it there and the staff really made it feel like home for him, as well as to the Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing in Little Falls for the care and compassion they provided to Harris and his loved ones during his final days.
