ILION – Mr. Richard L. Pickens, of Ilion, NY, passed away November 25th, 2020, at the age of 88. Born Sept. 8, 1932, he leaves 6 sons; 2 daughters; many grandchildren; and great grandchildren. Our father will be missed dearly by all his children, especially Rick Pickens, his best friend and Matt Pickens, his closest grandson. His surviving sister is Lois Hanson. Richard worked at Chicago Pneumatic for many years before working for and retiring from Prudential Insurance. Our father loved riding his motorcycle and visiting his children. He was predeceased, in July, by his wife, Lillian, who was his world and we know he is at peace in heaven with her now. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 1st, 2020, at 10:30 AM, at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road (Town of Frankfort), Ilion, New York. We will have a brief prayer service and then interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer, New York. Calling hours for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday morning, prior to the service from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. We will adhere to social distancing and face masks. Envelopes are available at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home. Richard’s passing occurred at the MVHS Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, (Town of New Hartford), on Wednesday evening.
