Obituary of Louis A. Colangelo

LITTLE FALLS – Mr. Louis A. Colangelo, age 81, who resided on Flint Avenue, in Little Falls, New York for many years, passed away under peaceful care at the Little Falls Hospital, on Monday morning, December 14, 2020. He was born on November 23, 1939, in Little Falls, New York, a son of the late Leonardo and Angela (Scarano) Colangelo and was educated in Little Falls schools. He graduated from Little Falls High School ‘Class of 1957.’ He went on to serve our country with the United States Navy and assisted on the USS Yorktown and within Japan. He then attended Iowa State University. Louie worked for and retired from the Bendix Corporation, of Utica, New York and still kept in touch with his co-worker friends to this day. Louie worked in the harness horse racing field as a driver/trainer prior to working at Bendix. He then worked with Turning Stone Casino, Verona, New York, as a floor supervisor and retired from there as well. He was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church and carried memberships with the Little Falls Elk’s Lodge and the DeCarlo Staffo Post #8. He was also a fourth ward Councilman for many years. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dominick and Caroline Colangelo, of Camillus, New York, along with their children, Lynn Fairchild (Robert), of Cicero, NY, Dominick Craig (Janice), of Weston, MA, and Laura Jones (Glenn), of Cumberland RI; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at 10:30 AM, from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, in Little Falls and at 11:00 AM, at the Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Streets, in Little Falls, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Brian Slezak, Pastor. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, with military honors. Calling hours at the Enea Family Funeral Home, will be on Tuesday morning, Dec. 22nd, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. If you plan to attend the calling hours or funeral services, a face mask will be required. Thank you.
