Thompson, age 58, of North Washington Street in Herkimer, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday afternoon, December 29, 2020. His unexpected passing occurred as a result of a cardiac incident. Born on October 3, 1962, Scott is the son of Bernard “Bill” and Bertha (Stalteri) Thompson. He was a lifelong resident of Herkimer and was a graduate of Herkimer High School Class of 1980. For the last thirty-three years Scott has been employed with Hale Manufacturing where he currently held the position of Facilitator. He was both well-liked and well-respected within his workplace and made a lasting impression on his co-workers. Scott was a longtime member of the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club. He was an avid complainer about hunting, fishing and four-wheeling but really enjoyed doing all of them! He was also well-known for being the greatest drummer in the band “Blue Denim.” He was an avid fan of Harley Davidson motorcycles and always wanted one of his own. Scott always looked forward to Friday get-togethers in the garage with his beloved brother, Brian, nephew, Ryan, and his great friends. He also loved his "chats" with his dear neighbors. He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Thompson and her beau, Christopher Hungerford of West Edmeston; his granddaughter, Bianca Law and Douglas Hungerford; his parents, Bill and Bertha of Schuyler; his sisters and brother-in-law, Cheryl Zumbo of Herkimer and Melissa and Daniel Derenches of Albany; his brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Janine Thompson of East Herkimer; his nieces and nephews, Ryan, Megan, Cassandra and Steven; many aunts, uncles, cousins and several very special friends. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours for Scott on Saturday afternoon, January 2, 2020 from 1:00PM – 3:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. In light of current health restrictions, face masks will be required and social distancing will be enforced. In lieu of flowers, which Scott would say were “STUPID”, please consider memorial contributions to the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club, PO Box 308, Herkimer, NY 13350. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The Thompson family has entrusted Scott’s final wishes to Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors.
