Obituary of Mary Rose Trask

ILION – Mary Rose (Perry) Trask, age 73, of Ilion, passed away peacefully, on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown. She was born on April 5, 1947, in Herkimer, the daughter of Stewart and Norma (Shepard) Perry and attended the Annunciation Catholic School and Rome State School. On September 29, 1990, she was married to Raymond Trask, at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk. He died on October 5, 2007. Mary Rose worked in the sheltered workshop, at Herkimer Industries (ARC), for 5 years. She also was a part-time receptionist, for 2 years. Mary Rose attended Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk and later the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion. She was also a committee member of several committees for Herkimer Area Resource Center, Herkimer. Surviving family members include: 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law, Donald “Don” and Sharon Perry, of Ilion and Robert (Bob) Perry, of Frankfort; several nieces and nephews, including Don Perry, Ruth Klink, Patricia Vandawalker, Robert Perry, Jr. and Nathan (Nate) Perry; several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; her sister, Carol Ann Perry, her parents; her grandparents including Olive Maddocks Shepard who Mary Rose lived with for many years; and her nephew, Lenny Perry. Due to the extreme COVID contagion level, there will be no public calling hours or scheduled funeral services at this time. A public Mass of Christian Burial, at the Church of the Annunciation, will be held later this spring 2021, at a date and time to be announced, with burial following, at Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs. Mary Rose’s service arrangements and supervision were prearranged and are entrusted to her Family Funeral Director and friend, Don Applegate, at Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s original location, at 102 West St., Ilion.
