Obituary of Elizabeth A. Darrow

MOHAWK – Elizabeth “Betty” A. Darrow, age 78, of Marmet St., Mohawk, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital, New Hartford. She was born on February 9, 1942, in Little Falls, the daughter of Albert G. and Jennie V. (Memrick) Miller and graduated from Mohawk High School. On June 29, 1968, Betty was married to Albert L. Darrow, at St. Patrick’s Church, in St. Johnsville, NY. He died on July 12, 1999. She was a machine operator and later a supervisor, at Allegro Shoe Co., in Little Falls, for 30 years. Betty later worked as a supervisor, at Human Technology, in Utica, for 9 years. Most recently, she was an assembler at LaSalle Labs, in Little Falls. Mrs. Darrow attended Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk. She was an avid Yankees fan. Betty always enjoyed being with her family. Surviving family members include her daughter, Tammie J. Wing and her husband, Paul L. Wing, Jr., of Mohawk; her grandchildren, Andrew Joseph Wing and Alexis Paige Wing; her sister, Susan Calhoun, of Freys Bush, NY; her brothers, Theodore “Ted” Miller and his wife, Kathy, of Dolgeville, David Miller and his wife, Beth, of Mohawk, Leo Miller and his companion, Sally, of Oppenheim, NY, and Kenneth Miller and his wife, Melanie, of Mohawk; a close friend, Becky Hosler, who was like a daughter to her; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and her canine companion, Toby. She was predeceased by her sisters, Rose MacRorie and Audrey Miller; and her brothers, William, Charles, Donald and James Miller. Due to the risk and restrictions of COVID contagion, there will be no scheduled public calling hours or services at this time. Immediate family members and relatives will meet privately to pay their final respects. Any relative planning on attending, must wear a mask to enter and practice social distancing. Thank you.
