Obituary of Enos Nicolette

MOHAWK – Mr. Enos Nicolette, of South Washington Street, Mohawk, New York, went to be with Jesus at the age of 94, on Tuesday morning, March 9, 2021, at the home of his son in the Town of Columbia, NY, with his loving wife at his bedside. He was born on July 27, 1926, in East Frankfort, NY, a son of the late Joseph and Rose (Cacciatore) Nicolette and was educated in East Frankfort & Ilion schools. He joined in marriage with Lillian D. Davis, on January 10, 1953, at the Mohawk Blessed Sacrament Church. Mr. and Mrs Nicolette shared many wonderful years together. He was a longtime member of the Redeemer Church and had served our country with the United States Army and was in Belgium at the war’s end with occupation troops. He was last employed with Library Bureau, in Herkimer, NY as a Woodworker for 40 years. He was a member of the Mohawk American Legion and the Fort Herkimer Amateur Radio Association, Inc. Enos spent much of his time woodworking in his shop and especially loved his Sunday family dinners. He also enjoyed bread making and was a devoted New York Yankees fan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Lillian; five sons, Robert Nicolette and his longtime friend, Carla Luther, of Waterville, New York, Alan Nicolette and his wife, Sara, of Ilion, New York, Francis Nicolette and his wife, Connie, of Watertown, New York, Thomas Nicolette and his wife, Josephine (Sohn), of Frankfort, New York, and David Nicolette and his wife, Leslie, of Ilion, New York; his two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marion Pizer, of Ilion and Madeline Stephenson and her husband, John, of Ilion; grand and great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Joseph Kline and children Alexandra, Ariana, Christopher and Sophia and Ellen Nicolette and children, Madison Nicolette and Sebastian Duvall, Lauren and Jeremiah and their son, Noah, Alexandra Nicolette, Timothy and Juliana Nicolette, Jeremiah Stewart and their child, Noah, and Joseph and Kiara Nicolette and their child, Nixon, Katherine and Caroline, Tyson and Janet Ford and their daughter, Maggie and Tyson’s sister, Cassidy Nicolette; along with many special and close nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Rose Baldwin and Julia Nicolette; and his brothers, Salvatore, Joseph, John, Vincent “Babe” and Angelo Nicolette. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 12th, at 7:00 p.m. from the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, NY, (Main Street between Frankfort and Ilion). Interment will be in the spring with full military honors, at Oak View Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 until 7p.m. and attend the funeral service to follow at 7p.m. If you plan to attend calling hours or the funeral services, due to COVID restrictions, a mask will be required.
