Obituary of Margaret T. Blumenstock

ILION – Margaret “Peggy” T. Blumenstock, age 89, of Ilion, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. She was born on November 3, 1931, in New York City, the daughter of Michael J. and Mary C. (O’Neill) Lynch and graduated from Queens NY schools. On June 22, 1963, she was married to Albert “Big Al” Blumenstock, at St. Joan of Arc Church, Jackson Heights, NY. He died on August 31, 2019. At one time, she was employed as an office secretary, in Queens, NY. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation and the Young at Heart, in Frankfort. She was a volunteer at the Food pantry for many years and a member of the Ilion-Frankfort VFW, Post 502 Auxiliary. At one time, she was an assistant Girl Scout Leader, in New York City. Peggy was an avid bingo player. She very much enjoyed her Saturday “craft days” at the Lynch’s house, with her family and friends. Her smile and kindness will be greatly missed. Surviving family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Diane Blumenstock, of Poland, NY; her daughter and son-in-law, Jean Anne Blumenstock and Eric Denfield, of Jacksonville, FL; her 7 grandchildren, Krista and fiancé, David, Mikki and Keara, Melissa Chartier and her husband, Jon-Paul, Christopher “C.J.” Denfield and his wife, Rachael, Edmund “Eddy” Denfield and Eric “Ricki” Denfield and his partner, Helen; her 5 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Ann E. Lynch and Joan Lawlor; sister-in-law, Patricia Lynch; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Patricia Blumenstock and Kevin and Margaret Blumenstock; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Edward Lynch and Michael Lynch; and her sister, Mary Rose Hunter. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021, at the Church of the Annunciation, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Paul Catena, Pastor. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s larger facility, at 4309 Acme Rd. (old Main St.), Ilion (Town of Frankfort). If you are planning on attending the calling hours or the Mass, please wear a mask and social distance, as per N.Y.S. D.O.H. COVID restrictions.
