Obituary of Nicholas Garbarino, Jr.

NEW YORK MILLS – Mr. Nicholas Garbarino, Jr., age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at MVHS, Faxton-St. Luke’s Campus. He was born on November 18, 1930, in Herkimer, New York, son of the late Nicholas, Sr., and Josephine (Baltico) Garbarino. Nick was raised and educated in Herkimer schools. He was employed for over 42 years by the United States Postal Service, Utica, a longtime postal carrier, and clerk. Nick was united in marriage with JoAnn Beman on September 30, 1961, at Mount Carmel Church, in Gloversville, New York, a blessed and devoted union of over 37 years until her passing on March 31, 1999. Surviving are his children, including daughter, Kelly English (Chris Wameling), of Clark Mills; and son, Todd Garbarino, of New York Mills; grandchildren, Erin (Dan) Saunders, of Clinton, James Nicholas English, of New York Mills and Megan Wameling, of Clark Mills; and one great-grandchild, Jackson Saunders, of Clinton. He also leaves behind many cousins in the Herkimer and Albany area. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial, on Monday, May 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum next to his beloved wife, JoAnn. There are no calling hours. If you plan to attend his Mass of Christian Burial, due to COVID restrictions, a mask will be required. Thank you.
