Obituary of Edward A McGowan

MOHAWK – Edward A. McGowan, age 47, passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, May 14, 2021, in the privacy and comfort of his home. Born on December 24, 1973, Edward is the son of Edward LaVenture and Nancy (McGowan) Brewer. He was raised and educated locally. Ed was a self-employed carpenter and a skilled craftsman. He had a knack for auto mechanics and was a car enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing with family and friends. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR’s Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Ed is survived by his father, Edward LaVenture and wife, Debbie; his mother, Nancy Brewer; his grandmother, Nancy McGowan of Little Falls; his significant other, Sherri Iannone; his sons, Kevin Oram and Samantha Dillenbeck of Dolgeville and Edward McGowan, II of Mohawk; his daughters, Katelin Senatore and husband, Peter, of St. Johnsville and Melissa McGowan of St. Johnsville; his grandchildren, Preston, Elenna, Carson, Aaliyah, Jeremy, Jr., Hunter and Emma; and his stepdaughter, Amanda Hyland and husband, Harley, and their five children. He also leaves his brothers, Michael Warmuth and Jacqulynn Bergyren of Herkimer, Christopher LaVenture and Tammy Horton of Frankfort and Andrew LaVenture of Frankfort; his sisters, Supreana Callaghan of Ilion, Lisa Collard and husband, Adam, of Middleville; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Ed was predeceased by his grandfather, Robert McGowan and his stepfather, Daniel Brewer. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours for Ed on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY (315) 823-2424.
