Obituary of Erika M. LeClair

FRANKFORT-ILION – Erika M. LeClair, age 86, formerly of Frankfort and Ilion, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at Foltsbrook, Herkimer. She was born on October 6, 1934, in Frankfurt, Germany, the daughter of Johann Karl Trost and Rosalie Luise (Zeigler) Trost and graduated from Frankfurt, Germany schools. On May 1, 1953, she was married to Ronald “Dick” C. LeClair, in Bad-Nauheim, Germany. He died on April 16, 1985. In her early days, she was a hairdresser and later a homemaker. Most recently, she had been employed as an assembler, at MDS, in Herkimer. Erika loved to play bingo and take the bus to the casino. Surviving family members include her daughter, Gerlinde Dueholm, of The Villages, Florida; her sons, Michael LeClair and his wife, Linda, of Vine Grove, Kentucky, Ronald LeClair and his wife, Charolette, of Apex, NC and Robert LeClair and his girl friend, Beth, of Mohawk; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Katie Militello, of Lake Worth, Florida and Louise Moe, of Amherst, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Timothy, in 1978; her husband, “Dick”, in 1985; her parents; her son-in-law, William Dueholm; and brothers-in-law, Daniel Militello and Carl Moe. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Foltsbrook for their compassion shown and care provided to Erika during her stay there. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Celebration of Erika’s life and Graveside Committal Prayer Service, at 12:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at North Columbia Cemetery, 1169 Elizabethtown Rd., Ilion, behind the Jesus Never Fails Community Church, at the top of the hill, in the Town of Columbia. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 110 Lomond Ct, Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes are also available at the cemetery service.
