LITTLE FALLS - Timothy L. Danehy, age 85, a Little Falls native, passed away suddenly, on Saturday morning, July 31st, 2021, at the Wilkinson Rehabilitation Center, in Amsterdam, NY. Tim was born on December 15, 1935, in Little Falls, NY to Leo and Mary Louise (DeCaire) Danehy. Tim went to school at St. Mary’s Academy and served in the US Army Reserve during the Vietnam War. Tim was employed as a meat cutter at several major grocery companies including Loblaws, during his long career. He eventually owned his own business, Edwards Deli and Beverage, in Johnstown, NY. He was well known in the area for his exceptional skills as a meat cutter and for his gourmet-quality prepared foods. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Tim was a great storyteller and family historian, passing on many stories related to his Irish ancestors. His stories usually began with: “This is a true story…” to the delight of his nieces, nephews, and friends. Tim was predeceased by his sister, Catherine (McQueeny), in 2000; brother, John “Bernie” Danehy, in 2014; and his niece, Geraldine Danehy, in 2020. Tim is survived by his former wife and long - time friend, Jeannie McDuffie; his beloved sister, Mary Ellen (Danehy) Conroy, of Agawam, Massachusetts; and a brother, Thomas Danehy, of Willimantic, Connecticut. He is also survived by his daughters, Tracy (Dan) Kuban, of Schenectady and Tammy (Rick) DePasquale, of Amsterdam; and four grandchildren, Nicholas and Delaney Kuban and Max and Andrew Spagnola. Tim had many friends who remained loyal and connected to him during his recent hospitalizations. The family would like to thank them for their love and commitment to Tim. Tim is also survived by his many beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews who loved to visit him and hear his family stories. His beloved dog and companion, Maggie, is now residing with family members.
