Obituary of James Terrill Zillioux

ILION - A resident of Ilion, New York, Jim passed away at the age of 82, on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, 2021, in Utica, New York. He was also formerly of Ormond Beach, Florida. Born in Utica, New York, on February 24, 1939, he was the son of the late Frank G. Zillioux and Helen (Hart). He was educated in Utica schools. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged, in 1962. His last employment was with the NYS Canal System as a Lock Master. As a typical Pisces he loved the ocean and summers spent at Sylvan Beach with family. Quite the handyman, he was versed in numerous trades and passionate about his home projects including finding creative new uses for duct tape. Terry was an active member with the American Legion Post #267, in Ormond Beach, FL and held the position of Road Captain with the Legion riders as an avid motorcyclist. Jim leaves behind his surviving family: his children, Jason G. Zillioux and wife, Allison Harrelson, of Atlanta, GA, Chad C. Zillioux, of Great Mills, MD, Ryan M. Zillioux, of Phoenix, AZ and Curt J. Zillioux, of Ilion, NY; his grandchildren, Rowan, Grady and Grayson Zillioux; his sister, Audrey Rich, of New Hartford, NY; his brother, Don Zillioux and wife, Ginger, of New Hartford, NY; a sister-in-law, Regina Serbicki, of Ilion; a special niece, Lisa Ellis and husband, Dan Ellis and children Allison and Austin; special cousins, Janice Finn Werner and Patty Orwick; a dear friend, Willy Henio and his first wife, Doreen Barnett and her son, Aaron; and many more loved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Helen; his brother, Keith and his wife, Pat Zillioux; his aunt, Peg Hart; his brother-in-law, Gabe Rich; and his beloved dog, Duke. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 10:30AM, at the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion, New York, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Paul Catena, Pastor. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, from 5 until 7 PM, at The Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, New York. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the calling hours and the funeral service the following day.
