Obituary of Terrence A. Oldfield 'Murphy'

HERKIMER - Mr. Terrence A. Oldfield, “Murphy”, age 65, of Goodell Avenue, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in the presence of his family, at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester, New York, after a brief illness. He was born on January 28, 1956, in Herkimer, son of Lois (Brown) and the late Alfred G. Oldfield and graduated from Herkimer High School. He was united in marriage to his wife of 34 years, Pamela (Balderston). His last employment was with Tect Power, Whitesboro, New York. Terry especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid Yankees and Giants fan and enjoyed tending to tomatoes and peppers in his garden. He was always outside in the garage working around and listening to the oldies. One of his favorite pastimes was that of busting chops! Survivors include his wife, Pamela, of Herkimer; his mother, Lois; his children, son, Terrence Oldfield and his girlfriend, Julia Ingalls and his daughter, Tara Oldfield; five siblings: Kerry Oldfield and wife, Angeline, of Herkimer, Sherry Cunningham and husband, Jed, of Lewes, Delaware, Debra Hall and husband, Randy, of Ilion, Darlene Oldfield and partner, Lani Schramm, of Lewes, Delaware and Randy Oldfield and wife, Sandy, of Herkimer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also has his in-laws, Barbara Hall, Hazel & Jim Buss, Sandy and Joel Solomon and Herb Balderston. He was predeceased by a brother, Alfred George Oldfield, Jr. There will be calling hours at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mr. Oldfield's funeral prayers will commence at 5:00 p.m., on the same evening, at the funeral home chapel. He will be laid to rest in the spring, in Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls. If you plan to attend the calling hours or service, a mask will be preferred. Thank you.
