ILION – Mr. Edward Patrick McMahon, born on January 6, 1944, of Ilion, New York, passed away, on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the Saint Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, New York. Edward was born and raised in Herkimer, NY and spent his adult life as a resident of Ilion, NY. Edward entered the gates of heaven greeted by his parents, Raymond and Nora; his brother, Harold; his infant children; and his infant grandson. He is survived by his loving wife, of 40 years, Mary McMahon (Vespi); their son, Jason and his wife, Sarah McMahon, of Ilion; their daughter, Heather and her husband, William Mizerak, of Little Falls; their daughter, Colleen and her husband, Brendan Collver, of Herkimer and their daughter Rachel McMahon, of Ilion. Edward was also blessed to be survived by nine grandchildren, Zachary, Delaney, Jacob, Addie, Shannon, Shea, Landon, Ethan and Harper. He also leaves behind his sister, Elizabeth and her husband, Thomas Maneen, of Frankfort and sister, Renee and her husband, Joseph Camarata, of Frankfort; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Edward had a long life full of family and friends. He served in the United States Army as a young man. Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Eddie they knew what a funny, kind-hearted man he was. He loved fishing and hunting and singing and worked security in our area for many years.
