Obituary of Dr. Michael Ivan Plotnick

COLORADO – Dr. Michael Ivan Plotnick, age 59, passed away unexpectedly of a cardiac event, on Friday evening, January 14, 2022, while doing what he loved most; spending time snowboarding with his beloved daughter, Anna. Born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania on May 31, 1962, Michael was the son of the late Sam Plotnick and Mary Jane (Lockyer) Regan. He also knew the love and guidance of his late stepfather, Jim Regan. Michael received his undergraduate and his Medical Degree from Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, Rhode Island. He went on to complete his OB/GYN residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Plotnick was Board-certified and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He was a part of several private practices, first in New York and then Colorado, specializing in high-risk pregnancies and deliveries. Michael’s life revolved around his passion for family and the love he held for his children. He would “torture” them with dinner theatre and ballet performances which have since become family traditions. His knack for fine port wine and SpaghettiOs was understood by anyone who knew him. He was a formidable political debate opponent with his daughter, Anna, and no matter how many lacrosse games of his son, Luke, he attended, he still could not catch onto the rules! These traits are what made him Michael… Everyone has a story about Michael which high-light his funny and edgy sense of humor and personality. He is survived by his children, Anna Plotnick (age 19) and Luke Plotnick (age 18) and their mother, Patricia Farouche, all of Golden, Colorado. Always in his heart was the memory of his beloved son, James, who passed away from leukemia on May 25, 2010. He also leaves his mother, Mary Jane Regan, of Rockville Centre, NY; his brother, Danny Plotnick, of Wykoff, NJ; along with numerous extended family members, friends, colleagues and lives he touched throughout his journey. Aside from his son and his father, Michael was predeceased by his brother, Andy Plotnick. Michael’s earthly remains will be laid to rest with his beloved son, James, in the spring of 2022 in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000, Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia, Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com.
