When I was a young child my mother (Joan Tinkham) got me a stamp collecting book. I remember spending hours looking at old envelopes and trying to find stamps that I did not have. At some point Uncle Joe found out that I was collecting stamps and we would send letters back and forth. He would always send me a few stamps to add to my collection and I remember being so excited to get one of his letters. As an adult looking back, I appreciate the time Uncle Joe took to communicate with a young nephew he rarely had a chance to see in person. I just wanted to share because it is just one example where he was willing to take time out of his days to invest in someone else. Thank you, Uncle Joe, you will be missed.
