Obituary of Florence Waller
Mrs. Florence D. (Ward) Waller, age 63, of Ilion, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2023, in the comfort of her home.
Florence was born on April 20, 1959 in Utica, the daughter of the late Earl and Amy Ward. She was raised and educated in Waterville schools. For many years, Florence worked as Certified Nurse’s Aide. She spent the majority of her career at Valley Health Services where she retired after 25 years.
In 1983, Florence entered into a union with James Waller, and the couple finally married in July of 2015. They spent a relationship together spanning forty years.
Florence was a loving wife, mother and grandmother…or “Weezer” as the grandkids called her. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies and lights of her life. She enjoyed crafting and her favorite “shows.”
Florence is survived by her husband, James, of Ilion; her two daughters, Kellie Pope, of Ilion and Amanda (John) Guyer of Mohawk; her grandchildren, Josh (Chelsea) of Ilion, Brandon (Anna) of Mohawk, Jonathan Thomas of Syracuse, Riley of Mohawk, MaKenna of Ilion, Ellis of Rockwall, Texas, and Brett (Jenn) of West Winfield. She also leaves her siblings, Earl Ward, Jr. of Ilion, Toni Velazquez of Ilion and Brenda (Jose) Velazquez of Utica; her mother-in-law, Ann Waller; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Michael and Heather Waller of Ilion, Johna Berger of Tonawanda and David Waller of Schuyler; a special aunt, whom she spoke to daily, Wanda Semeraro of Utica; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Amy Ward; her siblings, Eugene, Eric, Marjorie, Melinda, LeVenia and Elizabeth; her sons and daughter-in-law, Chad and Melissa Ward and Jonathan Waller.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation for Florence on Thursday afternoon, February 23, 2023, from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. Florence’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Thursday at 6:00PM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation, with Rev. Dr. Steven Scarcia, officiating.
