LITTLE FALLS – Mrs. Joyce Vivian Darrow Douglas, 81, a resident of Little Falls, passed away unexpectedly, on March 30, 2023. Born in Rural Grove, New York, on June 27, 1941, Joyce was the daughter of the late Birdsley “Bert” and Irene (Sweet) Darrow. Raised and educated there, she was an Oppenheim-Ephratah High School Graduate, Class of 1959. She worked at A & P, on the family farm and after the kids were grown, she retired from Little Falls Junior-Senior High School. Joyce was a loving and generous individual, who was selfless in putting the needs of others before her own. She is survived by her beloved family: her lifelong companion and husband of many years, married on July 11, 1959, Howard F. Douglas; her children, David Douglas (Jill), Norma Chrisman (Keith) and Duane Douglas (Holly); her grandchildren, Kyle Douglas, Jaimee Ascolesc (Dylan), Jennifer Lawrence (John), Scott Chrisman (Elizabeth), Kevin Chrisman (predeceased gram in July, 2015), Hailey Anderson (David), Mya Douglas and Lily Douglas; her nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Eleanor Klingbiel; her in-laws, August Douglas, Gerald (Eileen) Douglas and George (Ann) Douglas; her special nephew, Jim (Bridgett) Douglas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls, New York. Prior to the Funeral Service, there will be calling hours at the funeral home, from 11:00 a.m until 1:00 p.m. and relatives and friends are invited to calling hours and the service to follow. Spring interment will take place at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Funeral arrangements for Joyce are entrusted to Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors.
