Obituary of Raymond I. Warner

LITTLE FALLS – Raymond I. Warner, a life long resident of Little Falls, New York, age 63, of Burwell Street, passed away unexpectedly, on Friday, April 14, 2023, at his residence. He was born on July 24, 1959, the son of the late Walter Warner and Jean (Pocentyluk) Warner. He was a graduate of Little Falls Jr.-Sr. High School, class of 1977. He received an AAS degree in Automotive Technology, from SUNY Morrisville, in 1979. He earned a Machinist Technology Certificate from Mohawk Valley Community College, in 2001. He was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, in Little Falls. Ray was a natural mechanic, a perfectionist and a very skillful handyman, able to repair any project placed in front of him. A good portion of his handyman skills were developed from spending many hours learning and working with his father, Walt. He then, in turn, spent time with his nephew and nieces through the years, teaching them some of these skills. Ray’s life long passion for mechanics and engineering lead him to building many personal, very cool and unique projects from the bare frame up, always giving great attention to detail. Ray’s enjoyment for many off road vehicles included go kart racing, motocross, ATV, snowmobiling, mini bikes, dirt bikes, motor cycles and of course, tractors. He belonged to many club and association memberships. In recent years, he also developed a strong passion for cooking, in which he enjoyed sharing with his family. Ray was the owner and operator of Mohawk Valley Automotive, with partner, Mike Bulger, serving the community of Little Falls, for over 11 years. He later also worked as a machine operator, and driveline technician, for Fleet Pride and operated and managed Warner Aquatic Resources, a tropical fish farm, in Florida, following the passing of his brother. Aside from his father, Walter, Ray was predeceased by his brother, Bill Warner. Surviving family members include his mother, Jean Warner, of Little Falls, NY; his sister, Gail and husband, Bob Starring; nephew, Garret Starring and companion, Tae Neve; nieces, Sarah Starring, Jennie Starring; great-niece, Brighton Jean Starring, all of Salt Lake City, UT.; as well as many other beloved family members. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at the Enea family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, in Little Falls, NY, with a calling hour to be held prior, from 10:00 a.m., until the Funeral Service, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to all, as well as the burial to follow, in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. All service arrangements for Ray have been entrusted to Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors.
