Obituary of Bernard Angelicchio

HERKIMER-Mr. Bernard R. "Billy" Angelicchio, age 88 a lifelong Herkimer resident entered into eternal rest peacefully on Saturday afternoon, October 23, 2010 in Valley Health Services, Herkimer. He was born in Herkimer on November 18, 1921 son of the late Anthony and Maria (Colonna) Angelicchio and educated in Herkimer schools. On July 25, 1942, Billy was united in marriage with Josephine Polizzi in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort a blessed union of 62 years until Mrs. Angelicchio's passing on September 3, 2004. Billy was last employed as a steward at Herkimer Elk's Lodge and was formerly employed by the former MDS and Standard Furniture. He was of the Catholic Faith and a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. Survivors include his beloved family; his children: Anthony Angelicchio of Las Vegas, NV, Bernard "Billy Boy" Angelicchio of Herkimer, and Maria Barberio and husband Greg of Elkhart Indiana; three sisters: Louisa Gardinier and husband John, Rose Nobles and husband Stan, and Donna Aceto and husband Mike; five cherished grandchildren: Gregory and Jay Barberio, Anthony and Michael Angelicchio and Joseph Angelicchio; two adored great grandsons: Anthony Angelicchio and Gregory Barberio IV; many nieces, nephews and in laws. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Vito and Mickey "Dominick" and three sisters: Lucy Lidano, Antoinette Angelicchio, and Genevieve "Chickie" Angelicchio. There are no public calling hours of funeral service. The family is being cared for by Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, Daniel J. Enea, director.
