Obituary of Jeanne Bowman

<p>MOHAWK-Mrs. Jeanne (Martin) Bowman, 86 a lifelong Mohawk resident, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica with the love and support of her family by her side. She was born in Oneonta, on September 30, 1924, daughter of the late Jay and Louise (Stone) Martin and graduated from Mohawk High School. She was united in marriage with James Bowman on May 18, 1946 in Mohawk; a blessed union of 44 years until his passing in 1995. She was last employed as a key punch operator with the former Remington Rand and a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. Mrs. Bowman enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting. She was a talented ceramic worker and loved collecting teddy bears. She will be sadly missed. Survivors include two daughters: Kathleen Bowman of Mohawk and Christine Barscz of Herkimer; two brothers: James Martin and wife Edna of Mohawk and Robert Martin and wife Reba of Corning; two grandchildren: Sean and wife Heather Williams and Michael Barscz; two great grandchildren: Alex and Brody Williams; many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer (866-1011) from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011. The funeral will commence at 11:15 on Saturday, April 2, from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 12 noon from Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by the Rev. Thomas Lawless, pastor. Spring interment will take place in Mohawk Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider memorial offerings to Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church or to American Heart Association; envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the ICU at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and the nurses and doctors for their support and compassion. The family is being served by funeral director-Daniel J. Enea.</p>
