Obituary of Cecelia Crowe

Mohawk: Mrs. Cecelia A. Crowe, 83, of Church Street, Mohawk, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 in Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. Mrs. Crowe was born on March 15, 1928 in Marcy, a daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina (Gillette) Minosh. She was a graduate of Mohawk School. On June 7, 1947, Cecelia married John V. Crowe in Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk with the Reverend Thomas Scott officiating; the couple shared a blessed union of almost 63 years until John's passing on February 13, 2010. Cecelia was a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, and its Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters. Survivors include her loving family; children: Joseph Crowe and wife Kathy of North Carolina and Mary Crowe of Mohawk; her grandchildren: Taralyn and Brian Pinder of North Carolina, Kelli Crowe of Ilion and Michael Crowe of Pa.; her great grandchildren: Ty Pinder, Hadley Mae Pinder, and Hannah Pinder of North Carolina; sisters, Rose Cirillo of Mohawk and Theresa Dievendorf of Ocala, FL, many nieces, nephews, cousins, her best friend, Eloise Boyle of Maryland, and many dear friends and neighbors. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 6-9 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., between Ilion and Frankfort, 894-8000. Mrs. Crowe's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Mark Cunningham, assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, Parish Life Director, on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk. Procession will follow to Mohawk Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, John. Cecelia's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Faxton-St. Luke's Critical Care Unit, and the members of MOVAC, for their excellent care and compassion.
