CUMMING, GA.-Jeffrey Neil "Jeff" Carroll, age 52 of Lake Center Parkway, Cumming, GA, formerly of Herkimer, passed away suddenly on June 16, 2011. He was born on February 28, 1959 in Little Falls, son of the late Thomas Henry and Leona Nancy (Dean) Carroll. He attended school in Herkimer through to his Junior year in high school and later graduated from Schoharie High School, "Class of 1977". He furthered his education attending Franklin Pierce University where he received a Bachelor's Degree and also studied at Northeastern University, Boston, Mass. Jeff was last employed as a network communication consultant for various companies in Georgia. He proudly served with the United States Navy enlisting on Nov 28, 1978 and was honorably discharged on Nov 26, 1982. Jeff enjoyed spending time with friends and family and sharing his views on life, love, religion and music. His passions of study included military strategy, history and religious theology, as well as technology where he developed his career in telecommunications networking. Survivors include his children: Heather Lee Carroll of Chelmsford, MA and Shiloh Herringshaw of Jacksonville, FL; his brothers: Thomas Carroll and wife Lucille of Westerville, OH, Kevin Carroll and wife Karen of Cincinnati, OH and Brion Carroll and Cindy of Nashua, NH; aunts: Myrtie Roosevelt of Middleburg, NY, Terri Dollard of Albany, NY, and Bernice Carroll of Latham, NY; an uncle: Charles Carroll of Loudonville, NY; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will be present at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer (315-866-1011) to receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 11 am until 1 pm. The funeral will commence at 1 p.m. also on Saturday, June 25th from the chapel of the funeral home with Sister Mary Jo Tallman of Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk, officiating. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer where Jeff will be laid to rest with his mother. The family is being served by Funeral Director, Daniel J. Enea.
