LITTLE FALLS-Mrs. Lucy A. (Giangregorio) Conte, 84 of O'Hara Road, Little Falls entered into eternal rest on peacefully on Friday evening, May 6, 2011 in Little Falls Hospital. She was born in Herkimer on December 6, 1926, daughter of the late Damian and Maria L. (Cinquino) Giangregorio and educated in Herkimer schools. She was united in marriage to Philip B. Conte on July 6, 1946 at St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer with Father Purificato officiating; a loving and devoted union of 45 year until the passing of Mr. Conte on April 4, 1992. Together, Lucy and her husband Phil owned and operated Conte's Restaurant in Little Falls for 25 years. Lucy began her working career employed with many factories in Little Falls. She was a devout Catholic belonging to Holy Family Parish, Little Falls and the church Rosary Society and she was a former member of the Little Falls Hospital Guild. Survivors include her devoted family; her son, Philip Conte, Jr., of Little Falls and her daughter, Patricia "Pat" Blasting with whom Lucy resided also of Little Falls; a sister, Jemma Cancelino of Herkimer; her cherished grandchildren: Sherry Farrington and husband Jamie of Little Falls, Shelly Allen and husband David of Herkimer; three adored great grandchildren: Christian, Avrey and Nicholas Allen; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Rose Evola, Bessie Maneen, Nicholas and Vincent Giangregorio and by her son in law, Ralph Blasting. Lucy will be remembered as a woman who enjoyed a beautiful and blessed life. She brought joy to her loved ones and prepared many meals which they shared together. Lucy treasured the years spent at the family restaurant in Little Falls and will be missed by her family and friends. The Conte family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls (823-2424) on Monday, May 9, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. The funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Tuesday, May 10th from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 11 am from Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Sts., Little Falls where the Rev. Thomas Lawless, pastor will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. The Holy Family Parish Rosary Society will form an honor guard at the Mass. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest.
