Obituary of Thomas Campione

LITTLE FALLS- Mr. Thomas Campione Sr., 89, of E. Monroe St., entered into eternal rest on April 20, 2011 at Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing. He was born on September 8, 1921 in Mindenville, son of the late Antonio and Giaovanna (Marchese) Campione. At the age of 21 he entered the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country and was honorably discharged. He was an Operating Engineer for Local 106 in Albany for over 50 years. Thomas was of the Catholic faith and was a parishioner at Holy Family Parish in Little Falls. Thomas was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His favorite thing was watching a New York Yankee game. He also loved to play his harmonica and enjoyed fishing and gardening. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years Theresa, his sons Thomas Campione Jr. and his wife Veronica of Little Falls and Anthony Campione of Mohawk; his daughters Johanna Lanphier of Mohawk, Loretta Parry and her companion John DeLuisi of Florida and Patricia Wright and her husband Craig of Maryland; his grandchildren: Cindy, Scott, Rich, Jen, Monica, Matt, Andrew, Jamie, Erica and his two special granddaughters: Melanie and Alyssa, and his brother in law Raymond Burroughs. He was predeceased by his wife Nancy, his brother Jim and his sisters Lena, Beatrice, Mary and Josephine. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, from 6-8pm on Monday, April 25, 2011. His Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 9am on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Holy Family Parish in Little Falls with the Rev. Thomas Lawless officiating. The family will be gathering at the church between 8:30am and 8:45am. His interment will take place at 1:30pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY where military honors will be offered. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Thomas' name be made to the Alzheimers' Association or to Holy Family Parish.
