Obituary of Joan M Dean

<p>LITTLE FALLS: Joan M. Dean, age 81, of 57 Alexander Street, Little Falls passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Valley Health Services. She was born in Peekskill, NY on August 4, 1930, the daughter of the late John M. and Elizabeth (Dugan) Dempsey. Joan was a graduate of Peekskill High School and has lived in Little Falls since 1973, moving from Ossining, NY. She was married to William Dean on May 20, 1951 at Assumption Church in Peekskill, NY and Mr. Dean passed away in 1987. Joan was last employed by the HBE Group of Little Falls and previously worked for Leo Holland Insurance and the Little Falls Employment Office. She is survived by her son, William Dean of Little Falls; sisters, Barbara Begany of Buchanan, NY and Mary Bottas of Chelmsford, MA; a brother-in-law, Daniel Natarelli of Saratoga, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joan was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Natarelli and Rita Dempsey. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. from the Enea Family Funeral Home (Harry, Kevin, and Daniel Enea-Directors), 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY and at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, Little Falls, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Thomas Lawless, Pastor. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest. Friends and relatives are invited to visitation on Monday, September 19, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions in her memory can be made to the Association for the Blind and the Leukemia Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. </p>
