<b>Visitations</b> <p>Calling hours are Wednesday, 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.</p> <b>Services</b> <p>Funeral services will be held 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at the Applegate-Day &amp; Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, and 10 a.m. at the Annunciation Church, Ilion, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Anthony Barratt, pastor.</p> <b>Cemetery</b> <p>Internment will be in the spring in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.</p> <b>Obituary</b> <p>ILION - Joseph E. Plunkett, age 87, of 75 Fourth St., Ilion, passed away on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. Ed was born in Ilion on Oct. 20, 1921, the son of Frederick and Mary Plunkett. He attended Ilion schools and graduated from Ilion High School. He was married to Florence Cashman Tutty at the Annunciation Church, Ilion on April 28, 1962. Florence passed away on Nov. 3, 2008. Ed enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and loved his vacation at Cape Cod each year surrounded by his family. He also enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Celtics, Notre Dame football and Syracuse basketball. He was an avid golfer. He was especially proud of his service to his country as a veteran of World War II in the 8th Forward Artillery Observation Battalion. He worked for UNIVAC and Remington Arms and was a member of the Elks, VFW, and American Legion. Ed is survived by his daughter Susan of Hingham, Mass.; his sons Steve of Ilion and Gary Tutty and his wife, Pamela of Ilion: his grandchildren, Sean Tutty and his wife Sonya of Ilion, Christopher Tutty and his wife Mary of Orange, Calif.; Maura Tutty of Quincy, Mass., Rileigh Plunkett of Ilion; and his great-grandchildren, Keeley, Devin, Connor and Nolan Tutty; sisters-in-law, Irene Polley of Ilion, Catherine and George Snider of Frankfort, Elizabeth and Robert Luke of Ilion, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Fred Plunkett and his wife Minerva, and his sister Mary Garren and her husband Gary, and his aunt Agnes McShalley; as well as his in-law's Raymond and Beverly Cashman, John and Emily Cashman, Dominick Accattato and Earl Polley. Funeral services will be held 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at the Applegate-Day &amp; Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, and 10 a.m. at the Annunciation Church, Ilion, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Anthony Barratt, pastor.
