HERKIMER-Clara V. "Clare" Fagan, age 94, died on December 9, 2010 at Pleasant View Center, Concord, N.H. She was born on June 15, 1916 in Herkimer, New York, the daughter of Albert L. Fagan, M.D. and Henrietta V. MacNeil, R.N. Clare was a member of the Class of 1934 at Herkimer High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Albany State Teachers College (SUNY-Albany) Class of 1939. Prior to retirement, she was a long time employee at the New York State Department of Labor. She was an Albany, New York, resident for more than 70 years. Clare was a world traveler, often accompanied by a niece or nephew. She was a former member of the Albany Stamp Club. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Albert Kay and Malcolm M., and sister Madeleine. A devout Roman Catholic, Clare is survived by her brother, Thomas Fagan, and his wife, Anne, of Bow, N.H.; her sister-in-law, Madeline H. Fagan, of Kast Bridge, N.Y.; close cousin, Arthur Murphy and his wife Patricia of Halifax, Nova Scotia; and many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, to whom she was most devoted. Services and Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, N.Y. with a date pending. The family is being assisted by Daniel Enea of Holleran-Enea Funeral Home in Herkimer, N.Y.
