Ferguson, 89 of East Monroe St., Little Falls passed away on Christmas afternoon, December 25, 2009 in Little Falls Hospital. She was born in Utica, NY on September 2, 1920, the daughter of the late Edmund E. Hobbs and Frankie (Allen) Hobbs Laubestein. Her first marriage took place to John Bucenec in 1938. She was united in marriage with Jarvis Ferguson in 1961. Joan was first employed for 23 years by Diversified Case Co., Whitesboro and last employed for 11 years by LaSalle Laboratories, Little Falls, NY retiring in July of 1997. Mrs. Ferguson was a loving person and held extra special relationships with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Sherrill Broat and husband Melvin of Jordanville; her grandchildren, John Seeley of Nelliston, Vincent Seeley and wife Mary of St. Paris, Ohio, Rosalyn Ostler and husband Richard of Little Falls, with whom Joan resided, Joseph Broat and wife Jenny of Little Falls, Nicholas Broat of Mohawk; great grandchildren, Keegan and Anders Ostler, Laura Keller and husband David, Allen Taylor, James Seeley, Tyler Broat, Landon and Emily Broat; two great great grandchildren, Hannah and Michael Keller; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved son, David Bucenec who passed away on Dec. 9, 2004; a cherished grandson, Gordon Seeley; sisters, Lucille Bertolini, Margaret Hobbs (infant), Frances Hoff, Excella Durdon; a brother, Edmund Hobbs; a sister in law, Ruth Hobbs; and a nephew, Terry Shedd. In keeping with Joan's wishes cremation arrangements are being handled by Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls-Daniel J. Enea, director. A memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2nd from Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, Dolgeville with Sal Scaringe, presiding.
