Obituary of James Hoyle

James Henry Hoyle 68 of 171 Inghams Mills Road, Little Falls, died on Sunday evening September 18, 2011 at Faxton- St. Lukes Health Care, New Hartford, New York after an extended illness. Jim was born in Little Falls on March 11, 1943 the son of Henry and Ruth (Smith) Hoyle and attended St. Johnsville Elementary school. He then transferred to Oppenheim- Ephratah School where he graduated from. Jim was a veteran of the Viet Nam War serving honorably in the United States Air Force from May 1964 until his discharge as a Sgt. in May of 1968. His medals included National defense service medal, Viet Nam Service Medal, RVCM, and the AFLSA medal. His marriage to Sandra Whitford took place on April 10, 1971 in the Presbyterian Church in Dolgeville. Jim was employed for many years with the Town of Manheim and most recently with Corts Equipment Company of Marcy, New York until his retirement in 1986 due to his health. He was a former member of the American Legion Post and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. His personal hobbies included hunting and fishing and he was also a collector of various knives. Jim is survived by his wife Sandra, his Sons Andrew Hoyle and Daniel Hoyle both of Colorado Springs, a Daughter Sarah Hoyle also of Colorado Springs. He is predeceased by another daughter Mary Hoyle on May 18 of this year. In keeping with his wishes there are No Calling Hours or services at this time.
