Obituary of Marian House

FRANKFORT: Marian Shannon House, our Mom, age 90, entered into the peace of God with the love of her children at her side on September 17th 2011, at Faxton-St. Luke's Hospital. Marian was the fourth born child of the late Felix and Mary (DeLaurier) Juteau. She was born on January 28, 1921 in Newport, NY. Marian was educated at St. Francis de Sales School in Herkimer and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1939. Mom married our father, James R. Shannon on July 3, 1940 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Frankfort. They shared their unconditional love with their friends and family, especially with us, their seven children. They instilled their strengths and values as a base for our lives. Dad passed away on May 19, 1969. Mom was blessed with never ending kindness and consideration for all. She blessed us with her beautiful smile. Although she was busy with her children and family during her early years, she also managed to assist with the family farm. She served on the Dutch Hill Road School Board of Education and was active in the Frankfort Center community. More importantly, she always made sure that there were extra plates of food for friends that may stop by during dinner. Mom excelled in sales. She was honored as a diamond club member in Avon. She actively sold Avon for 20+ years, enjoying the friendships she made along the way. Mom also enjoyed her membership in the Frankfort/Ilion VFW auxiliary for many years.
