Obituary of Deborah Langdon

HERKIMER: Deborah Jean Ireland Langdon, 61, of 513 Steuben Road, Herkimer, NY passed away on March 9, 2011 at Valley Health Services. She was born July 4, 1949 in Utica, New York, the daughter of Bette Lou and Raymond Ireland. Debi grew up in New Hartford and graduated from New Hartford High School. She graduated from St' Elizabeth's School of Nursing in 1970 as a Registered Nurse. Debi's life was devoted to her sons, friends, and community. She did a lot of volunteer work. She was home-room mother for her three sons at St. Francis de Sales School. Debi worked for her church in charge of games for the Parish Fair for many years. She co-chaired Arts & Crafts for the Christmas Bazaar. She was a Den Leader for her sons, Cub Scout Leader for Pack 4 and also Commissioner. She was extremely proud that each of her three sons received the rank of Eagle Scout. Debi received the Award of Merit in 1988 from the General Herkimer Council. She worked as the night nurse for almost nine years at the Country Manor and loved working for the residents. Arthritis forced her to retire in 1998. Surviving are her beloved sons, daughters in law and grandchildren: Bob and Sabrina of Little Falls, David and Kara of Albany, Michael and Amanda of Herkimer; her wonderful grandchildren: Gabriella, Olivia, Brayton, Lilliana, and Curtis; two grand puppies: Megan and Steve. She also leaves two sisters: Katie Gall and Joan Stedman and two brothers: Ray Ireland and Charlie Ireland. She also leaves some very special friends: Cindi Howe, Betty Brown, Rosemary Parody, Elaine Acker, Kerri Congdon, and Donna Born. She also leaves a "Furry Friend" Molly. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer, 866-1011, on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2-5 p.m. The funeral services will be held Monday, March 14th at 1:15 from the funeral home. The Reverend Mark Cunningham will celebrate her Funeral Mass at 2 PM on Monday, March 14, 2011 at St. Francis de Sales Church, N. Bellinger Street, Herkimer. Spring burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, funeral director.
