ILION-Mr. Sidney T. Jowett, 80 of the Prindle Apartments, Ilion passed away on Thursday afternoon, November 18, 2010 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 25, 1930 in Utica, son of the late Frederick S. and Edna M. (Washburn) Jowett and educated in Herkimer and Utica schools. He was a lifelong Mohawk Valley resident. Mr. Jowett was last employed with Baker's Greenhouse, Utica. He loved spending time with his beloved canine companion, Chin. Sidney also loved Nascar, fishing with his grandsons and laughing with family and friends. Survivors include his children: a daughter: Renee Bayer and husband Randy of Ilion; four sons, Thomas Jowett and wife Carol of Bridgewater, Ron Jowett, Sr., of Mohawk, Steven Jowett and wife Donna of Ilion, and William Jowett and companion Amy of Fairfield; two sisters: Loretta Cool and the late Robert Cool of Frankfort and Karen Jowett of Texas; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and his step children: Mark S. Hunt and wife Kim of North Dakota, Paul Hunt of Mohawk, and Kimberly Kolar and husband Keith of Mohawk. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ron Jowett on October 9, 2010; by a sister, Norma Johnson and husband Edward and by a brother, Bernard Jowett and wife Jean. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service commencing at 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., between Ilion and Frankfort, 894-8000. Calling hours will be held also on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Mt. View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls.
