Obituary of Malcolm James

<p>Mr. Malcolm G. James 86 a lifelong resident of Dolgeville, died Wednesday August 4, 2010 in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Utica, where he had been a patient since July 23rd. He was born in Dolgeville on November 2, 1923 the son of Glenn and Gertrude Malcolm James and was a graduate of Dolgeville High school, class of 1941. A veteran of WW II he served honorably in the United State Army from March 1942 until his honorable discharge in February 1946. He served overseas with the 1647 Engineer Utility Detachment, earning the rank of T5 and the following medals, American Service medal, World War II Victory Medal, the Good conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal. Malcolm was employed by area companies, including the former Griffith Fuel Company, the Harry J. Hopson Insurance company and he retired from the Adirondack Bat Company in 1982. His marriage to the former Emily W. Young took place on March 13, 1948 in the Presbyterian Manse in Dolgeville. Mrs. James predeceased him on September 16, 2005. He is survived by his sons David and his wife Barbara James of Clifton Park, NY and Douglas and his wife Katrina of Phoenix, Arizona, his cousins Connie McPherson gates and Marcia Markel and their families, and a good friend Gloria LaVenture of Dolgeville. In keeping with his wishes, he made an anatomical gift of his body to SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse. Upon completion his cremains will be buried in the Dolgeville Cemetery. There are NO Calling hours. His arrangements were prearranged with Brian A. Roberts of the Roberts &amp; Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. </p>
